AI Content & Likeness Policy
Pitchfork lets creators make AI pitch videos with their own likeness and license that likeness to brands.
Effective October 8, 2026
This policy covers every AI feature on Pitchfork: AI pitch videos, avatars, voice clones, licensed content that brands generate, and AI-written scripts and agreements. It is part of our Terms of Service.
The core rule
You can only create AI content of yourself. A brand can only create AI content of a creator when that creator has licensed their likeness to that brand, consented to synthetic generation, and approved the specific output.
What you can't do
- Create AI content of anyone else without their verified consent. This includes celebrities, public figures, friends, and family.
- Create sexual or sexually suggestive content of any kind, including nudity.
- Create content that shows, or appears to show, anyone under 18. You must be 18 or older to use Pitchfork's AI features.
- Present AI content as real footage to mislead people, or create fake endorsements, testimonials, or statements someone didn't make.
- Create political or election content, including content about candidates, campaigns, or ballot measures.
- Create hateful, harassing, violent, or self-harm content.
- Make false or misleading financial, medical, or health claims.
- Promote illegal products or services.
- Infringe someone else's copyright, trademark, or publicity rights.
- Get around our safeguards, for example by uploading someone else's photo, sharing accounts, or using another person's identity documents.
How we enforce this
- Identity and face match. Before you can create an avatar, voice clone, or AI video, you verify your identity with Stripe Identity. We then compare your ID selfie with your profile photo. If they don't match, generation stays off.
- Public figure review. If your photo appears to match a known public figure, generation is paused until our team reviews it.
- Automated screening. Every source image and script is screened before anything is generated. We block sexual content, apparent minors, and the other categories above.
- Creator approval. Brands can't view or use licensed AI content until the creator approves it.
- AI labels. AI videos made on Pitchfork carry a visible "AI-generated" label.
- Limits and logs. AI generation has monthly limits per plan, and we keep a record of blocked attempts.
- Age checks. AI features require you to confirm you are 18 or older.
Your consent controls
Creators control what they allow in Settings > Consent. Turning off synthetic generation stops new licensed content from being created. Content you already approved stays governed by the license terms you agreed to.
Reporting
If you see AI content that uses your likeness or work without permission, or that breaks this policy, use our Report Infringement form or email legal@getpitchfork.co. We acknowledge reports within 2 business days and start review within 5 business days. We may restrict content or accounts while we investigate. We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children.
Consequences
We may remove content, disable AI features, suspend or close accounts, and hold payouts tied to content under review.
